ITINERARY IN BRIEF

Day 1: Board your luxury coach and travel to Yorkshire.

Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast load your coach and travel to Pickering where we will meet the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a trip down memory lane. Take the 18 mile journey through the Yorkshire Moors to the village of Goathland. The Famous Goathland Station became Hogsmeade Station in the fi rst Harry Potter movie; also it may be familiar to some as “Aidensfi eld” in the beloved Heartbeat. More recently it has become the feature in the new “Dads Army” film.
Meet your coach and travel through the moors to Eden Camp, a World War Two prisoner of war camp, the only museum of its type in the world.

Day 3: This morning you will have a guided tour of York City. Take time to visit the cathedral, the remains of the Roman Barracks, and the foundations of the Norman Cathedral. We will also explore the city walls and the famous snickelways of York.

In the afternoon we shall visit the National Railway Museum which is home to over 300 years of railway history. We shall see the famous Blue Mallard Engine that broke the world speed record for steam trains in 1938 and then move onto the modern day where we shall see the only futuristic bullet train outside of Japan!

Day 4: This morning we shall visit Castle Howard, home to the Howard Family for over 300 years. This is a chance to marvel at breathtaking architecture and world renowned art collections or wander around the walled & woodland gardens. Castle Howard is the perfect day out in Yorkshire.

Day 5: Today we shall board our luxury coach once more and make our journey home.
